With Love, Your Liver

With Love, Your Liver

Your liver is amazing.

Tasked with hard work on a daily basis, your liver hardly ever gets the appreciation it deserves. Your liver is one of the strongest filters in your body. It washes away the bad decisions and the one-too-many evenings along the way. By metabolizing proteins, fats and carbs, your liver produces all the healthy juices that keep your other organs in good shape!

The liver filters, controls, and cleans a liter and a half of blood per minute and processes around 500 vitally important biochemical metabolic reactions. The liver acts as a purification plant for the blood and plays a vital role in detoxification. It is the largest organ inside the human body.

An Organ of Regeneration

Your liver can handle a lot (clearly!), but it also is frequently overtaxed. Our world is filled with chemicals, pathogens, and toxins, which are around the corner every day! But, you are lucky. Your liver has the power to regenerate and heal itself. But, when your liver is overloaded for too long, we need to partner together to get it back to functioning normally. Sure, limiting the toxins is the first step, but that isn't always realistic.

According to traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), the liver holds 'the soul.' Associated with the element of fire, it manages everything, including mental activity. Our Qi (vital energy) must be able to flow along our meridians, or it concentrates in the liver, producing irritability, insomnia, and depression. According to Hippocrates, if you don't understand how to detoxify your liver it affects your digestion and mood.

DETOXING

Detoxing the liver is also a detox for the mind. Liver flushing is a very important step. We should show our gratitude to our liver by regularly flushing, detoxing and cleansing. Knowing how to cleanse your liver is knowing how to flush the body's processor of nutrients.

Top Liver Cleansing Herbs

Let the herbal allies save the day. These herbs can be taken individually and paired with anti-inflammatory foods.

  • Milk Thistle scavenges toxins, protects cells, and mines heavy metals. It regenerates damaged liver cells and relieves liver tissue inflammation.

  • Dandelion Root gently cleanses the liver, purifies the blood, is restorative to the liver, is an antioxidant, and prevents tissue damage.

Try Desert Bloom Botanicals Detox Tonic two times a day, can help to cleanse and rebuild your liver to function optimally again! Milk Thistle seed is the start of liver healing, and is supported by burdock root, red clover, and dandelion root.
